PRESS RELEASE

WOODSTOCK, GA (May 24, 2023) – The Woodstock Police & Fire Departments are now accepting applications for the Summer 2023 Teen Public Safety Academy, scheduled for Monday, June 19, 2023 – Friday, June 23, 2023.

Teen Public Safety Academy is a series of educational classes designed to enhance a teen’s understanding of various aspects within the police and fire professions. Some of the classes offered during this week-long course are: CRASE (Civilian Response to Active Shooter) seminar, Criminal Investigation procedures, patrol operations, K9 demonstration, Traffic Unit, use of force, TAC Medic, Cherokee County E-911, mental health, fire safety, and fire prevention.

The Teen Public Safety Academy will be held each day from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Woodstock Police Department and various public safety locations throughout Cherokee County. Lunch will be provided.

Registration is now open, and applications can be picked up at the Woodstock Police Department located at 12453 Highway 92, Woodstock, GA 30188. Space is limited and spots are filled on a first come first served basis with special consideration given to residents of Woodstock. Applicants must be between 14-19 years of age.
