The Vega String Trio with Will Ransom

Monday, September 9, 2024: The Vega String Trio with pianist Will Ransom of Emory University in a program of String Trios and Piano Quartets.

Atlanta Percussion Ensemble

Monday, October 14, 2024: Atlanta Percussion Ensemble with pianist Julio Barreto in a program of Latin percussion music. Featuring world percussionist Scott Douglas of the Atlanta Opera and Ballet orchestras; Chris Riggenbach bassist from Oglethorpe and Emory Universities; percussionist Kevin Leahy, executive director of the Atlanta Pops Orchestra; and Julio Barreto  of the Oxford AL Performing Arts Center.

Atlanta Symphony Orchestra: Christina Smith, Zhenwei Chi, and Elisabeth Remy Johnson

Monday, January 27, 2025: Christina Smith, flute; Zhenwei Shi, viola; Elisabeth Remy Johnson, harp: all are first chair performers with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.

Joe Alterman Jazz Trio

Monday, May 19, 2025: Joe Alterman Jazz Trio

All programs are at 7:00 p.m. at Fellowship Presbyterian Church, 389 Bent Tree Drive, Jasper, GA. There is no charge for admission, although contributions are gratefully received; donations from the series’ patrons cover the expenses of these concerts. Casual Classics was established in 2007. Over the years, the series has featured many soloists and ensembles associated with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, faculty at area colleges and universities, and emerging artists.

Calvert Johnson has been the Concert Manager, since 2018. Members of the Board of Directors include Kelly Lohman, Lloyd McDonald, Marc Unger, Treasurer Shelly Garstin, and Suzanne Shull.
