PRESS RELEASE
CANTON, GA (September 16, 2023) – The Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce is hosting a one-day leadership conference on Friday, September 29, with tickets available to both Chamber members and the general public. The Chamber’s “Leadership Symposium,” hosted by Reinhardt University, will be held at the Falany Performing Arts Center on the university campus in Waleska.
“The Leadership Symposium will feature two speakers during the first half of the day who will share thought provoking information to be used both on the job and in life,” remarked Chamber Chairman Trey Ragsdale who is in External Affairs with Kaiser Permanente. The speakers are Dr. Lori Maldonado, Co-Creator, Teach One to Lead One, and Sean Georges, J.D., LL.M. and Co-Founder of On Mission Leadership, LLC. The interactive afternoon session, led by the University of Georgia J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development, includes a leadership and personality assessment. Through this session, attendees will learn more about themselves, better understand others and help others understand them all while strengthening their relationships and overall communication. Participants will also develop an understanding of their strengths and potential weaknesses, which can be used to modify communication with others at work and home.
”The Chamber is excited to partner with Reinhardt University for the sixth consecutive year on this impactful one-day high energy event that provides seasoned leaders the opportunity to refocus while also encouraging emerging leaders to better grasp their leadership potential. Continuous development of Cherokee County’s array of leaders – business, government, civic, cultural, faith based, etc. – is vital as our community works to remain at the top of its game,” shared Chamber President & CEO Pam Carnes.
The day will begin at 8:30 a.m. with registration, and the final wrap-up is at 3:30 p.m. An optional campus tour will follow. The cost is $80 for Chamber members and $100 for future members and includes the program, continental breakfast, lunch, and two networking/snack breaks.
