CANTON, GA (Nov. 28, 2022) – On Thursday, December 1, the Cherokee County Walk to End Alzheimer’s committee is hosting a Walk Celebration Event for all registered participants, teams, and sponsors at Reformation Brewery in Canton (225 Reformation Parkway). Individuals interested in learning more about the cause, volunteering on the Walk Planning Committee, or registering for the 2023 Walk to End Alzheimer’s event are welcomed as well. The event will be held from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m.

The Cherokee County Walk to End Alzheimer’s 2022 event was held at Etowah River Park on Saturday, October 29 with over 70 teams registered and over 400 individuals participating. To date, 87 percent of the event’s $145,000 fundraising goal has been achieved. Donate online by visiting GeorgiaWalk.org and selecting the Canton, GA event. Donations are accepted through the end of December.

Top Fundraisers

The top five fundraising teams—The Arbor at BridgeMill, Sarah Kendall: The Girls in Purple, Team Heightchew, Cherokee Veterans Community, and Creekview High School Winter Guard—raised a combined $46,881 towards the fundraising goal. The Arbor at BridgeMill and Sarah Kendall: The Girls in Purple are both ranked among the top 20 fundraising teams in the state of Georgia.

The top ten fundraising individuals are Cassidy Baker (The Arbor at BridgeMill), Bob Heightchew (Team Heightchew), Sarah Kendall (Sarah Kendall: The Girls in Purple), Shirley Prather (Sarah Kendall: The Girls in Purple), Kat Dyer-Wall (The Arbor at BridgeMill), Charlotte Terrill Reed (All In for Allens), Lindsey Upchurch (Bradshaw Farm Neighborhood), David Snyder (Cherokee Veterans Community), Monica Henriques (Hills of Hope), and Sandy Beecham (Cameron Hall of Canton Cardinals).
