WOODSTOCK, GA (July 11, 2024) – Downtown Woodstock offers a new shopping event this season with the Summer Scratch Off Lottery. Starting Thursday, August 1, and running through Thursday, August 15, all shoppers can pick up a scratch off card from participating retail stores to receive store discounts.

“This event is a fun new way for visitors and residents to check out the local retail shops of Downtown Woodstock,” shared Sylvia Breitbart, Program Manager for the City of Woodstock Office of Economic Development. “The Summer Scratch Off was created to help promote our local business’s offerings, while giving shoppers some truly great discounts simply for shopping at their stores.”

How does it work? Shoppers visit participating retail stores, make a purchase, and receive one Summer Scratch Off card. Each card contains one of many various discount offerings. The discount on the card can be used at the immediate time of purchase, or at a later date throughout the month of August at the same business location. All scratch off card discounts will expire on August 31, 2024.

In addition to the scratch off discounts, shoppers can also add their name and email address to the card and turn it into the retail store to be entered into a raffle to win further prizes. Five raffle winners will each receive $100 in Downtown Dollars. The Downtown Dollars are a year-round program through Visit Woodstock GA, redeemable like cash to any of the participating retail shops and restaurants in the downtown area. Raffle prize winners will be announced on Visit Woodstock GA social media during the first week of September 2024.

With both the Summer Scratch Off discounts, plus the additional chance at raffle prize winnings, this event is aimed at saving shoppers money while promoting Downtown Woodstock GA’s locally owned stores and boutiques.
