Thanks Mom & Dad Fund®

The Thanks Mom & Dad Fund® awarded Polk County’s Cedartown Senior Center with a $2,000 grant to expand their community garden. The community garden is available for senior center participants to grow produce for their own consumption. Not only is this a way to address food insecurity, but also a wonderful opportunity for them to participate in daily physical activity.

The Thanks Mom & Dad Fund® is a charity created to honor parents, grandparents, and mentors by supporting programs and services for the aging population. It works to improve the quality of life for older adults. It honors the contributions of older adults from one generation to another by raising funds and making grants to agencies serving them. Brief History

Contributions help us fill gaps, encourage program innovation, and increase services for older adults. Services can include but are not limited to, transportation (perhaps a ride to the doctor), home-delivered meals for the homebound, adult day care, respite care for caregivers, and critical information and assistance for families struggling to sort through the needs of their parents or loved ones.

Through ongoing fundraising and grantmaking, the Fund seeks to engage the public in support of such programs through greater awareness and promotion of vitally needed services.
